about MU-HER
MU-HER is a portrait archive project exploring women in moments of presence, power and becoming. Women shaping our time.
Inspired by the word mujer, Spanish for woman, MU-HER reflects the strength, presence and individuality of women across communities, industries and cultures.
Through portraiture and personal reflection, the project captures women in moments of becoming, moments where leadership, courage, creativity and identity intersect.
Each portrait becomes part of a growing archive honouring the voices, stories and presence of women whose impact extends beyond themselves.
about Mages
Mages Ruiz Diaz is a creative director, storyteller and community builder, and the mind behind MU-HER.
Born in Argentina and now based in Melbourne, her work is shaped by a personal journey of migration, identity and self-discovery. Moving between cultures has informed a practice grounded in observation, storytelling and a deep sensitivity to the human experience.
Throughout her career, Mages has been driven by a desire to create spaces where women feel seen, supported and empowered. Whether through her business, community building, mentoring, or her athletic journey, her work centres on connection, representation and lifting women as they rise.
MU-HER is a natural extension of this path, a growing portrait archive capturing women in moments of presence, strength and transformation.
Her work is guided by a simple yet powerful intention: to create space for women to be seen, not only for what they do, but for who they are, and who they are becoming.
What’s next?
MU-HER will continue to grow through exhibitions, publications and curated conversations, building a living record of the women shaping our world today.
